Tannie Maria is back, writing her Love Advice and Recipe column in the Klein Karoo Gazette, baking her mouth watering cakes and solving yet another crime. Someone is killed right in front of her, poisoned by a mustard sauce, and Tannie Maria and journalist Jessie are determined to find out who dunnit. Dating the dashing detective, Henk, complicates matters further and Maria needs some counselling advice herself. Lingering troubles from a previous marriage lead her to get help from Ricus, the Satanic Mechanic, who fixes both people and cars under a clear Karoo sky. But no sooner is Maria’s Venus Chocolate Cake in the oven than there is another murder…
Delightful, funny, a little sad and very warm hearted, this is a wonderful sequel to Recipes for Love and Murder. The recipes at the back make you want to drop everything and start cooking –  so forget any diet whilst reading. A perfect holiday book for bush or beach.
There will be a fittingly delicious tea under shady trees whilst you listen to Sally. The Listeners Library has generously donated a R300 gift voucher as a prize and The Book Revue will cook one of Tannie Maria’s fabulous cakes to give away.
The entrance fee and all profits on books sold will be donated to Nazareth House in Yeoville. Nazareth House looks after 40 young AIDS orphans and 130 elderly indigent people.
