barbara kingsolver book covers Book Revue

“Although it grieves me that houses are burning, I have fallen in love with a river that runs through a desert, a rain forest at the edge of night, the right of a species to persist in its own world space and the words I might assemble to tell their stories.”

Author, activist, gardener, mother, community member and biologist, Barbara Kingsolver lives a full and useful life. Most of you will have read and loved her books. Her best known book, The Poisonwood Bible, became a best seller and was shortlisted for the Pulitzer and Pen/Faulkner Awards and The Lacuna won the Orange Prize for Fiction. Her non-fiction book, Animal, Vegetable, Miracle tells of a year of eating locally and as in all her writing, it is informative, openhearted and beautifully written.

The Book Revue invites you to listen to Barbara Kingsolver and to engage with this marvellous author.
